My name is Heleen de Pater. I am experienced in teaching English to children and adults from 4 – 82 years old, both in (primary) schools and at Course Centres. Teaching people from various nationalities is what I like best. Every mother tongue presents different challenges with regard to pronunciation and use of grammar, etc.

CELTA certificate

I hold the internationally recognised CELTA certificate. CELTA is an acronym for “Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults” and is awarded by Cambridge ESOL, part of the world-famous University of Cambridge.

In groups or one-to-one

Both in group and one-to-one lessons I adhere to the principle of active learning. Students are encouraged to participate actively, rather than lean back and listen to the teacher.
